Carol Merkel Named Risk Management Specialist
DEXTER, MO, August 19, 2019 – Farm Credit Southeast Missouri President & CEO Bob Smith is pleased to announce that Carol Merkel has accepted the position of Risk Management Specialist at the Dexter Branch. In this position Carol succeeded Steve Wyman, who recently accepted the position of Loan Officer.
Carol is a native of northern Illinois, where she co-owned and managed a family farm for many years, conducting many enterprises including purebred cow-calf, Percheron draft horses, Boer pygmy goats, agri-entertainment, U-Cut Christmas trees and a carriage business. For the past 10 years Carol has worked for Compeer Financial (formerly 1st Farm Credit Services) in Bourbonnais, Illinois, as Association Insurance Officer which is a crop insurance support role.
Because of their love of the Missouri Ozarks region, Carol and her husband Tony, recently purchased a cattle ranch near Elsinore, MO, and moved to Southeast Missouri.
Smith states “We are extremely fortunate to employ someone with the unique combination of agricultural, financial institution, Farm Credit and crop insurance experience that Carol brings to our association. We know that she will be a great fit for the RMS position at Dexter.”
